The 5 Most Common Myths About Puppy Yoga

And why they are fake

At Euphorie Chiot, we often hear the same preconceived notions when it comes to puppy yoga. So, it's time to shed some light on this unique activity, which is caring, gentle, and deeply respectful of animal welfare. Here are the five most common myths... and the truth that debunks them.

Myth 1: “Puppies do yoga”

This is probably the most common myth. No, puppies don't do yoga poses! It's the human participants who are practicing a light yoga or relaxation session. Puppies, on the other hand, move freely around the room. They are free to come see you, play, sleep, or simply explore. No constraints are imposed on them.

At Euphorie Chiot, we always respect the animal's natural rhythm.

Myth 2: “It’s not clean, puppies poop everywhere”

Hygiene is a priority. Our sessions take place in a safe environment, with training mats and staff present at all times to clean as needed. Participants must bring their own yoga mat, and breaks are scheduled between sessions to clean, air out, and allow the puppies to rest.

Everything is in place to ensure a clean, safe and pleasant space for everyone.

Myth 3: “Puppies are exhausted or overused”

Quite the opposite. Our puppies participate in a maximum of a few hours of activities per weekend. Breaks of 45 minutes to an hour are scheduled between each session. They sleep when they need to and are never forced to interact. Foster families support us in ensuring their healthy development, and their well-being is our top priority.

Our rules are strict and focused on respect for animals.

Myth 4: “It’s not safe for puppies”

All our puppies are vaccinated, vet-vetted, and come from non-profit organizations that ensure their health. We do not accept any puppies that have not been previously evaluated and prepared. Additionally, our sessions are supervised by an experienced team who ensure every interaction is respectful and calm.

Our participants also receive clear instructions: we do not hold the puppies in our arms against their will, we let them sleep, and we respect their autonomy.

Myth 5: “It’s just a cute activity, with no real value.”

Puppy yoga is more than just a cute moment. For puppies, it's a valuable socialization opportunity that helps them better adapt to future human environments. For participants, it's a moment of well-being, mindfulness, and reconnection to the present moment. The testimonials we receive often speak of calm, lightness, and genuine joy felt after the experience.

It is a gentle, educational and beneficial activity for everyone.

In conclusion

Puppy yoga is neither a spectacle nor a passing fad. It's a supervised activity, designed to respect the animal and offer a moment of authentic relaxation for humans.

At Euphorie Chiot, we want every participant to understand our mission: to promote the well-being of puppies while creating a gentle and luminous experience for humans.
